Welcome to The Best Lack All Conviction BlogThis blog is not about anything other than the things I want to write about.
For a long time this blog tried to be about darts and may yet again talk about darts but for now it is about whatever suits my fancy. If that entertains, engages or inspires you, then I guess we are in good company. My sister also has a blog that is written by her pet border collie . Callum the Border Collie ands his Autistic Human Please follow her page and show her some support. She has been having a tough time living alone since our mother passed from cancer. |
Yes, after a fair stretch without posting I am back. I am not sure how consistently I will be posting, but as of right now right this minute yes I am back. Yes, all along I have been still playing darts, and yes as always there have been ups and downs as I continue along my path of darts discovery. My league season has also concluded by the way, and while happy we made it to the final, I am sad we couldn't get the job done when it counted most. We were simply outclassed in the end, and yes the better team won. I will be playing in the Summer out of a new bar, but not as Captain, and already my darts have taken a jump in a positive direction with that weight lifted from my shoulders! In fact, it is positive things about darts, and trying to limit my distractions that has contributed to my not making any posts for a bit. I Just felt I needed to simplify my relationship with darts to spend some time with it just being about throwing the darts and not all the peripheral enjoyments. This blog, is also fun, but in it's own way is kind of work. Mostly fun work, but well fun and unpaid (costs me money actually) so it can be hard to keep at it all the time. SEWA Darts RevisitedI have a set of the 24 Gram Red Dragon SEWA darts. I won them in a contest, and they were sent to me personally by Erik Mcvay who designed them. After a brief trial period I found myself with other darts and not quite able to get along with the SEWA darts.
There is one set of darts that I shoot better with than any other and for longer periods of time. However, I also find that as my shot gets better, I encounter greater and greater amounts of pain. To counter that I have been resting my arm and trying to stretch out my forearms a little (which are admittedly quite stiff).. but also because I thought the pain might be associated with the weight of the darts, have (in an almost Eureka moment) switched back to the SEWA darts. I really love my other darts, but if I can throw pain free with similar results that would be a huge bonus! Ok thanks for reading. Not sure when I'll be back, but keep an eye out!
