Welcome to The Best Lack All Conviction Blog

This blog is not about anything other than the things I want to write about.
For a long time this blog tried to be about darts and may yet again talk about darts
but for now it is about whatever suits my fancy.
If that entertains, engages or inspires you, then I guess we are in good company.

My sister also has a blog that is written by her pet border collie

Please follow her page and show her some support.  She has been having a tough time living alone since our mother passed from cancer.

180 number ten for me but still none in actual competition...
In darts you can be your own worst enemy, and the very passion that the game incites within you is also your undoing.
Quite simply, if you are an excitable type you can run into some problems in darts, and here in my second season (and first as captain) I have developed a slight habit of flying off the handle a bit.  Granted, usually in some manifestation of righteous indignation, but still getting worked up more than I should.
The question is what to do about it? It isn't good for my game and must throw the team off!
The answer?  Well, I am taking Taijiquan lessons so maybe that will help, but really I think the best thing for me to do is nothing.  I think a lot of the issues I am having stem from my overall lack of experience beyond anything else, and that worrying about my worries.
I also just have to simply accept that I will not finish in the top 10 like i did in my first year and take things one game, one leg, one throw at a time and remember the value of growth and development over simple statistical plateaus.
Having had been on a down-slide and perhaps ever so slightly prone to them I am now moving into a good patch and admonishing myself to cling to and abide by the mantra that darts is fun and that success in the game is rooted in enjoyment of the game.

A look at the Elkadart Neptune 21 gram dart

I like to have a few extra sets of darts around, mostly to loan out to people or to have a few throws with here and there and well recently I picked up a set of the 21 gram Elkadart Neptune darts.

21 gram Elkadart Neptune Review

It's a more subjective as opposed to facts and figures but hopefully will give you a bit of a sense as to what the dart is all about.

Singles Show Down

Next week is the singles tournament for the league and I am going to go out and try my luck. I can't say I like my chances, including against some of my own team mates, but I do know that if I get into a good rhythm I am more than capable of winning games. I wouldn't count on it, but don't count me out either!
Needless to say a win or even a good outing here would do wonders for my confidence!
I'm putting the practice time in (as always) so that should help as well.
Stay loose and just throw will be the name of the game!  Wish me luck!

First Dart Board Chat

Just a quick announcement to let you all know that I have the first interview arranged for Dart Board Chats with another on the way!
The first interview will be with hypnotherapist Kate Gardiner of the Morpheus Clinic here in Toronto.
The topic of hypnosis is something that I have seen come up quite often in darting circles so I think this will be a good first chat! The other guest I am making arrangements for is equally exciting but in a  completely different field!
Very excited to see Dart Board Chats getting off the ground!

More on the Tai Chi.

As I mentioned earlier I have been taking Taijiquan and learning the Wu family style of this martial art (yes it is a martial art!) and in the early goings at least I would highly recommend it!
It is good for you physically and emotionally, teaches you self defense methods (all those super slow moves have full speed defense applications) and is weirdly fun to do.  It also helps me divert my obsessing so it is divided between this and the darts.
There is also a weird feeling with Taijiquan of being a part of something really intelligently designed and special.  I am not sure I would call it a spiritual connection, but not too far off!
best of all, is in the end it could very likely help my darts game!

Well that is all for now! Thank you all for taking the time to stop and read, it is appreciated!
