Welcome to The Best Lack All Conviction BlogThis blog is not about anything other than the things I want to write about.
For a long time this blog tried to be about darts and may yet again talk about darts but for now it is about whatever suits my fancy. If that entertains, engages or inspires you, then I guess we are in good company. My sister also has a blog that is written by her pet border collie . Callum the Border Collie ands his Autistic Human Please follow her page and show her some support. She has been having a tough time living alone since our mother passed from cancer. |
Life as a newly married man has kept me a bit from posting, but not from the world of darts, as my wife is also plunging into the darts and she is a new comer, but has shown a level of enjoyment, but as well focus and dedication that will allow her to improve in leaps and bounds.
I am still a beginner myself, but one thing I have learned, and which I would pass on to anyone stating up the game, as I did with my wife. That is, that practice works. Time spent on your own, doing practice drills/exercises will reap rewards. The trick to it though, is that you have to not be competitive with yourself, and to let the new plateaus of skill come when they come. Above all else, have fun and just enjoy it and dont sweat a bad dart, since all you can do is throw the next one and why take the chance of making that one bad too by getting down on yourself? One place you might also want to look as far as getting better at darts is Flight School which is free and a very good program. You might also have noticed that indeed the Abominable Throw man has a spiffy new look! That awesome little graphic is the forum signature that was done for me by one of the community members at the Darts Nutz forum! I think it looks pretty ace! Tuesday is the start of the Autumn dart season, and I am excited but also in a bit of an odd spot, as this is my first full season in darts and first season as a full member, but I am also co-captain and expected to figure out/handle the pairings and match ups. It's certainly the kind of job I enjoy, and we're playing with a great bunch of people, but well... I'd say it was like herding cats, except the cats would be easier to manage! I know some willful people, perhaps myself included. Well, lets just see how it goes! I will keep you all posted!!
