Welcome to The Best Lack All Conviction Blog

This blog is not about anything other than the things I want to write about.
For a long time this blog tried to be about darts and may yet again talk about darts
but for now it is about whatever suits my fancy.
If that entertains, engages or inspires you, then I guess we are in good company.

My sister also has a blog that is written by her pet border collie
.

Please follow her page and show her some support.  She has been having a tough time living alone since our mother passed from cancer.

Darts: The End of Summer

My first ever stint in a darts league has come to an end and it is with much more a whimper than a bang.  I had hoped that no matter what the final result I could say I played well, but no I was horrid.
I am still finding my footing with how I am shooting now as before I signed up for 'Flight School' and I had a partner who seems to have had a turn to a kind of very competitive urgency that the playoffs seemed to instill in him and which was more than a little aggravating to me.  That being said, we did at least win a leg.
As for how the whole team did, well it seems misery loves company and we were beat across the board with only a  couple of wins on the whole night.
Thankfully the other team was good natured and gentlemanly and in truth simplu out gunned us.  I am looking forward to playiing them again when my game is up a notch, but iindeed they were a pleasure to play with.

So now a few weeks until the fall and my first full season and first as a full fledged member.  Most of the people I have been playing with will now be on opposing teams!   I am looking forward to the challenge of playing against them!
Predictions have also been made that I will be top two on my team and a strong candidate for rookie of the year.  That remains to be seen.  For now I just want to learn and grow and continue to develop my game and my focus.  I figure as it is I do about six hours of solitary practice to every game I play.  A real sense of 'getting it' comes and goes but I know I have a hill to climb before I get to where I would like to be.

It's a great game though, and I'm maybe a bit mad with my addiction to it, so I think save to say I'll get there.

In darts you know you've made it when they name a dart after you!

Thanks for being with me on my darts journey.  More to come soon! (likely after my wedding!)
