Welcome to The Best Lack All Conviction Blog
This blog is not about anything other than the things I want to write about.
For a long time this blog tried to be about darts and may yet again talk about darts
but for now it is about whatever suits my fancy.
If that entertains, engages or inspires you, then I guess we are in good company.
My sister also has a blog that is written by her pet border collie
Callum the Border Collie ands his Autistic Human
Please follow her page and show her some support. She has been having a tough time living alone since our mother passed from cancer.
My new Tuesday night team had it's first game last night, and took it on the chin a little bit. It wasn't horrible but we have room to improve. Overall I felt happy with my own game other than simply not getting the job done. On the upside I did get the one win our team had, and even managed to pop in a 140 score and a couple more in practice. A lot of the players are new to darts so I know they will need a bit of time to find their stride (and their stroke) so I am just going to focus on being able to contribute and help the team from my end as best I can, throw up as many wins as I can and have a good time doing it.
I must say it is night and day between Tuesday and Thursday but that is also a nice and useful contrast. I also think I had been hurting myself in my Thursday games by trying to 'make up' for the previous week. I was psychologically starting myself 'in the hole' when in fact each game, and in fact each dart is a fresh new start.
My main goal now for Thursday is to master my emotions and my nerves and to not get quite so excited. I will report back soon and let you all know!! My best is yet to come, and with me about to make vast improvements to my set up at home for even better practice sessions I think I am well on my way.
Wish me luck and thank you all for coming along for the ride!!
My new set of (used) Unicorn Phil Taylor Phase 6 darts. (The Wife has my Barney's) Stay tuned for a possible dart review!!
