Welcome to The Best Lack All Conviction BlogThis blog is not about anything other than the things I want to write about.
For a long time this blog tried to be about darts and may yet again talk about darts but for now it is about whatever suits my fancy. If that entertains, engages or inspires you, then I guess we are in good company. My sister also has a blog that is written by her pet border collie . Callum the Border Collie ands his Autistic Human Please follow her page and show her some support. She has been having a tough time living alone since our mother passed from cancer. |
![]() Well I think I had best post at least a little something before I open myself up to accusations of blog abandonment. Not that I know how often one should be posting in a blog. Daily? That seems like a bit much, but maybe only for the disorganized such as myself. In any even I do want to try my best not to leave things too long, especially since my posts tend not to be of the long or earth shattering variety. I had another league game for darts, and that was a mixed bag of success and minor frustrations. You see, I joined in a bit late (plus I have never played league darts before) so I was on as a 'sub' which meant that if I showed up I would get one game for sure, but only more if necessary. This is fair enough, however as you may well know from my other posts I have been practicing and practicing and practicing and I have a lot to work on, but have brought my game along quite a bit. I had a thought that if I had a couple of really strong games I'd be able to play myself into an extra game or two. It didn't happen, and well that is just how it works. All I can do is keep working hard to get ready for the Fall season where I will no longer be a sub. I really hope my development keeps it's forward and upward trajectory and I hope the darts spark stays with me. As a bit of good news in terms of the summer dart league I now find myself in the highly unlikely position of being undefeated after three games with two different partners in doubles Cricket, and no my partners didn't carry me. In fact I haven't lost a leg yet! Yes, I know it's only 6 legs of Cricket, but as a beginner it is more than I was expecting by about 6! Am I going to get better for a while and then hit a ceiling, or will I keep getting better? I personally feel that I have room to grow, but also that I will get there, to whatever that height may be. Speaking of taking darts to new heights, darts is not an Olympic event, but considering it's popularity and high skill levels requirements to play at a high level, then maybe it should be? Who knows you might oe day see me on the Canadian Olympic dart team. Or maybe not...
